Month in Metal November 2019

New metal is always something to be thankful for and November delivered! November 2019 was packed full new music from all across the metal landscape.

November Metal Albums

Hidden History of the Human Race by Blood Incantation

Blood Incantation delivered a death metal masterwork with their album Hidden History of the Human Race. The 36 minute album is comprised of 4 tracks. The track “Awakening from the Dream of Existence to the Multidimensional Nature of Our Reality (Mirror of the Soul)” (yes that’s the real title) is a lengthy 18 minute trip. Blood Incantation has really impressed us with their intense, progressive, and cosmic work.

Procession of Ghosts by Dawn of Disease

German melodic death metal act, Dawn of Disease, brought melody and might with their 5th studio album Procession of Ghosts. If you’re a fan of the classic Gothenburg melodic death metal sound, look no further than Dawn of Disease. It’s intense with plenty of hooks to keep you wanting more.

Death Atlas by Cattle Decapitation

The death-grind band goes black metal with their much anticipated release. The semi-clean vocals and emphasis on melody are brought to the forefront compared to previous releases. The result is an atmospheric album that tells the story of the Apocalypse, while not an entirely original concept, Travis Ryan continues to make a case as the most talented extreme metal vocalist active today.

Gastwerso by Sarke

The Norwegian black metal act, Sarke, brings a blend of traditional black metal with symphonic elements on their album Gastwerso. The album has undeniably catchy moments featuring riffs that wouldn’t sound out of place on rock radio. There’s a touch of doom and groove in what the band brings to the table.

Walk Beyond the Dark by Abigail Williams

A dark, atmospheric romp through modern black metal with hauntingly beautiful melody interwoven throughout. We expect nothing less from music coming from the Pacific Northwest. A location that exudes melancholic ambiance.
