Metal Injection’s Frank Godla on “Slay At Home”

Slay At Home

Slay At Home is a heavy metal music festival created and organized by Metal Injection co-owner, Frank Godla. The festival is a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic which has rendered a large number of musicians unable to perform their music. The total shutdown of live entertainment has had a massive impact on the lives of entertainers around the world and Frank needed to do something about that.

Frank‘s goal for the festival is to raise money to help both musicians, entertainers, artists, and health care industries. Partner charities for the festival include MusicCares and Global Giving. MusicCares has committed to helping musicians, crew, and industry workers through financial crises. Global Giving is helping front-line health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival will include exclusive performances from some of the best metal bands in the world. Brand new, commissioned music will also be debuted during the festival along with cover song collaborations, special guests, art installations, and more.

Throughout this episode we chat with Frank about Slay At Home and what it will mean to him as an industry leader, a musician, and a fan during these confusing times.

The festival will be broadcasted on YouTube on May 29th and 30th. You can find more information at slayathomefest.com.
