The guys review Holocene Extinction by Terminal Nation.
We are going to start doing video album reviews somewhat regularly. We could think of no better way to fire up the review engine than Holocene Extinction by Terminal Nation. It is a very interesting listen from start to finish. Why is it interesting? I think it was the combination of hardcore and death metal that helped it stand out, the vocals leaning more towards the former and the instrumentals towards the latter. This is something you don’t hear everyday. To top it all off, the album is fucking intense! The anger and ferocity is palpable throughout the listen. We particularly enjoyed the memorable riffing & instrumental production choices. As stated above, the vocals lean more towards the hardcore. If this is your thing, you’re in for a real treat. If it isn’t, well, I think there’s still plenty this album offers from an instrumental standpoint.
The other things we enjoyed about this album is that it had something to say. As sick as we all are of hearing it, these are unprecedented times. The album touches on all the issues we are facing as a society nicely. I would definitely suggest reading the lyrics to this one. The political nature of the message may not necessarily be your thing, but you’ll still find some riffs and yelling worth a headbang regardless of where you stand!
