Background Noise Suppression came onto the Greek rock scene in 2005. Recently, the alternative, “Pop Dirt” band released its second studio album Dead Memories.

Bassist Johnny Papaioannou joins Mark Radlund on this week’s episode. Johnny and Mark discuss the sub-genre “Pop Dirt,” Thessaloniki vs. Athens, and the major influence The Cure has on the band.

We also dig into several Greek topics including myths and legends, olives, the 2004 Olympics in Athens, as well as the racial and cultural relationship between NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greek citizens.
