Music marketing is something that seems to go by the wayside for many smaller bands. Most bands spend their time writing new music, touring, and recording, they’re artists after all, while placing less focus on promoting and marketing themselves.

Matt Bacon is a journalist and the founder of Dropout Media. He start his trek through the metal landscape at the age of 14, offering album reviews to small bands on internet forums. That early work set the stage for work at publications like Metal Injection. Matt’s experience in the space continued to grow as he ended up managing an band’s European tour.
Now Matt spends his time on Dropout Media helping bands more attractive to the masses. This includes things like improving social media presence, tour planning, album releases, and press kit creation.
