Super Metal World features unique metal & rock content that you won’t find anywhere else. What makes us unique? The passion poured into the website, the podcasts, the blogs, and the reviews. There is a thinking man’s approach to the content. We are not afraid to get deep & cerebral with the genres we hold dear.
This is not a beer-swilling bro website. Nor is it a snobby elitist website. Although we welcome fans of metal & rock across the spectrum. This website simply features content that asks you to dig a little deeper within yourself to consume. Most of us are passionate nerds anyway, who thrive on analyzing and over-analyzing our favorite music & artists.
The Origin Story
Michael, Ty, & Mark grew up in the same small town in North Dakota. While most of the inhabitants were square dancing to Luke Bryan, the guys were cutting their teeth on heavy metal, grunge, and good old fashioned rock n’ roll.
They remained close friends from elementary school to high school to college and often discussed embarking on a creative venture together around dining halls, dorm rooms, and dive bars.
The dream finally came to fruition, after they had all graduated college, when Michael & Ty started their own private podcast (Into the Rabbit Hole or some shit) discussing whatever came to mind, such as hot air balloons, Insane Clown Posse, and The New Wave of American Heavy Metal. After recording many of these directionless “practice episodes,” it dawned on the guys that they should pour their creative passion into a metal podcast that put intelligence at the forefront.
Heavy metal and video games had always been nerdy passions that Michael & Ty had bonded over throughout their lives (and still to this day). Thus, Super Metal World Podcast was born. Mark quickly became involved assisting the guys with scoring big interviews (Melvins, Trivium, Otep) and adding the rock n’ roll edge to round out the team.
Mark now hosts his very own podcast focused on rock & popular culture, On The Rocks Podcast, brought to you by Super Metal World.
Fast-forward to today and the guys have interviewed the likes of Nightwish, Trivium, Jinjer, Nile, Body Count, Melvins, Otep, Amy Sciarretto, Metal Injection, MetalSucks, Albert Mudrian, Eric Alper, and many, many more! Their following continues to grow as fans appreciate the passion, quirkiness, and intelligence that fuels the website and the podcasts.
